2009 Governor’s Ohio Artists Award - December 6, 2008
We are truly honored to officially announce Derek Mortland and Michael Joseph Ulery (SOTIW) have been selected to receive the 2009 Governor’s Award for the Arts in Ohio in the Individual Artist category.
Since 1971, the Governor’s Awards have been presented to outstanding individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the arts in their communities.

Arts Day Luncheon will recognize and celebrate the artistic achievements and excellence in Ohio on Wednesday, April 1, 2009.

2009 Ohio Governor's Award Nomination - October 20, 2008
We are thrilled to announce the following news.
As Received from OAC:
Congratulations Derek Mortland and Michael Joseph Ulery! You have been nominated for a 2009 Governor’s Award for the Arts in Ohio in the category of Individual Artist.
The Governor’s Awards Selection Committee, comprised of Ohio Arts Council Board Members, will meet in mid-November to decide award recipients in each category.
Award winners will be announced in early December. To view your nomination and the

As you may know, artists, patrons, legislators and arts and business leaders attend
the Governor’s Awards each year to celebrate the many artistic achievements in our state. The 2009 Governor’s Awards for the Arts in Ohio and Arts Day Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, April 1st, 2009 at noon at the Columbus Athenaeum in downtown
Columbus. Tickets to the event are $50 and include lunch and a dessert reception.

The 2008 10th ANNUAL Native American Music Awards (NAMMY)
We were truly HONORED to have been a part of this year's consideration as recipients of the WORLD and SONGWRITING nomination categories.
As we were not winners this year, the competition presented many fine artists.
A special thank you goes out to Jan Michael Looking Wolf for his moving, tear jerking acceptance speech for the FLUTIST of the year category. And to Ellen Bello and the Seneca Niagara for putting together such a fine event.
